  1. Make it official:

Sign a contract with your chosen band detailing exactly what has been agreed upon.

    Be sure to include:

  2. The agreed upon fee.

  3. The agreed upon deposit.

  4. The equipment that will be supplied by them.
Any equipment that will be supplied by you.

  5. Refund or cancellation terms.

  6. Hours of service.

  7. Any extra terms you've agreed on.

  9. Your names and the name of the bandleader.

  10. The number of anticipated guests.

  11. Overtime rates.

  12. Demand Exclusivity: Make sure your wedding is the only one of the evening for the band. You don't want your musicians packing up right after the first dance to go to another gig!

  14. The Details: Firm up your musician's arrival times and setup requirements so there will be no technical surprises. Include details of equipment requirements such as power outlets, staging, dance floor, speakers, etc. Also discuss the following

  15. Dressing rooms and meal requirements
  16. Musicians' attire
  17. Length of performance and specific break information. Will taped music be played during breaks?
  18. Emcee responsibilities?
  19. Detailed information for alternative plans in case of bad weather
  20. A list of your favorite songs, as well as the names of songs you don't want to hear.
