Master of Ceremonies is a duty that GBSO can perform. Nothing extra is charged for this service.
There are certain things you will need to do in order to help insure that your event goes as well as you hope. For example, a wedding reception will include introducing all of the wedding participants. It is important that a list of names is provided. Each person's name should be phonetically spelled and listed in the order of introduction. Introducing someone out of turn or mispronouncing someone's name is not only embarrassing to everyone but is disrespectful. Paying attention to the details goes a long way in making your event a successful one.
Knowing the flavor of your guests and type of event can help GBSO prepare the proper music. Setting the right attitude and tone for the rest of the evening, the master of ceremonies will be equipped to tailor remarks which will mean something to your guests.
Playing music at the level we like to play is very demanding both mentally and physically. After a particularly demanding sequence of tunes the band may need a short rest. Not a break, just a chance to rest their "chops" for a moment. It is during this time the master of ceremonies would tell a joke, introduce the event organizers or simply take a moment to add some interesting facts about a the music we play. One of our goals is to keep the audience's attention throughout the event. Even during the regular band breaks, we will provide music via our sound system. Keeping you and your guests happy is one of our goals.
